Summer (2017)

XANADU

at Trevi Lounge

Longview-Theatricals brought audiences the story of a Greek muse who disguises herself to appear before an artist who is doubting his work. Zeus forbids falling in love with mortals, causing Clio's evil sisters to place a curse on her and provide the perfect conflict for one 90 minute romp. Based on the cult-classic film, XANADU took audiences back in time to the 80s for a night filled with laughter, inspiration, and roller disco! Complete with roller skating and chart topping pop music, "Evil Woman" "Strange Magic" and "Have You Never Been Mellow" to name a few, this hilarious Broadway musical gave the summer of 2017 just the kick it needed!

Book by Douglas Carter Beane and music and lyrics by Jeff Lynne and John Farrar based on the 1980 film by the same name.

XANADU originally opened at the Helen Hayes Theatre on Broadway in 2007 where it ran for over 500 performances, winning the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Musical and a Drama Desk Award for Best Book. It was also nominated for four Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Actress, Best Book of a Musical and Best Choreography. Originally produced by Robert Ahrens, Dan Vickery, Tara Smith/B.Swibel and Sarah Murchison/Dale Smith; Associate Producer: Cari Smulyan, Marc Rubel, Allison Bibicoff and Christopher R.
